01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

One visitor paired lemon cake with an iced Americano—a lovely way to picture a pause at pluto. The lemon pound cake is made with chopped lemon zest, juice and honey, then brushed with more lemon juice after baking. The result is moist, fragrant with lemon and pleasantly tangy. To go with it, consider a hand-dripped coffee, with beans to choose from several varieties (600 yen and up).

For a light bite, try a focaccia sandwich, crisp on the outside and chewy within. The prosciutto and mozzarella version combines savoury ham with juicy tomato, and is also available in a half size. Basil and burrata brings together roast ham, burrata, basil sauce and pistachios. The two sandwiches offer distinct combinations on the same focaccia.

For something sweet, there is also carrot cake made with brown sugar and cane sugar, with carrot and roasted walnuts folded into the batter and a cream-cheese-and-butter frosting. One diner enjoyed it with dark-roast coffee, making it an option for those who like a substantial slice alongside their coffee.

The book-lined interior has counter seating, and visitors have described it as quiet and comfortable for conversation. You can eat in or take your cake and coffee to go.
